What you’ll find on this site
- Study notes from Access to HE (what landed, what didn’t, and the bits I had to learn twice)
- Work experience and volunteering logs (practical, honest, and hopefully useful)
- Wildlife and welfare rabbit holes (papers, ethics, conservation trade-offs)
- Resources for career changers (checklists, templates, and admin you can steal)

What I’m focusing on right now
Study: Building strong fundamentals in biology and chemistry, plus consistent exam technique.
Experience: Getting real exposure to animal care and clinical settings, and learning how good teams work under pressure.
Direction: Exploring the overlap between welfare science, conservation outcomes, and what vet work looks like day to day.

If you can help…
If you can offer any of the below, please do get in touch:
- Work experience or shadowing in veterinary practice, wildlife rehab, or conservation settings
- Introductions to vets, vet nurses, wildlife rehabilitators, or welfare researchers
- Suggestions for placements that are genuinely educational (I’m not above mopping, I just want to learn while I do it)
